This addresses the nature of science by researching famous scientists and inventors. It is a cross curricular exercise that utilises students' study skills. It involves the use of ICT and students have plenty of opportunity for decision making.
An activity designed to allow students to work out the rules for naming binary compounds and compounds containing two elements and oxygen (-ide and -ate compounds). It is a groupwork activity and includes a ready made worksheet for classroom use.
